Whisky To The Nth Degree

In just a few short weeks, The Nth, Universal Whisky Experience is coming back to Wynn Las Vegas, and I couldn't be more thrilled! Universal Whisky is the pinnacle of luxury and class, with some of the most rare and high-end spirits available to taste. I've had the pleasure of attending this event the last three years, and each year you can expect something new and some incredible pours! Although the majority of the booths focus on whisky, scotch, and bourbon, there are quite a few other spirits like rum, cognac, gin, mezcal, and tequila that also have a presence at the Nth. If you plan on attending Universal Whisky this year, here's some tips and tricks I've learned over the years:

  1. Make sure you eat beforehand. Although there will be some food available, it's not ideal to start an endless tasting event on an empty stomach. I have snacked on the food available half way through to give myself a break between pours. It's usually a buffet selection of pasta, carved meat, sliders, etc.

  2. Take a ride share or pop the money to stay at Wynn or a neighboring resort. I've taken a rideshare each time, and convenience and safety is of upmost importance when planning a night of drinking.

  3. It can be a bit overwhelming when first walking in and seeing all the booths. I typically like to walk around the room to see the brands and selection before diving right in to the first booth I walk up to. This also gives you a chance to start somewhere with less crowded.

  4. Make sure to drink plenty of water and rinse your glass between pours. They have a few water stations set up throughout the floor.

  5. It's impossible to try everything! Focus on bottles and brands you haven't tried.

Universal Whisky is in a league of its own, and is an unforgettable tasting event like anything else. Check the link below for more information and to secure your tickets.

Great tips! Eddie does #3 while I just go for any table without a line yet! (Though the lines aren't bad at all!)
